fandomsandfeminism

Fandomsandfeminism

A SJ warrior often complained about in meme. Her fandoms include Harry Potter, Steven Universe, Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra, Star Wars, several DC Comics and Marvel properties, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, and pretty much anything praised for its SJ qualities. Infamous for reblogging every anti-SJ troll post she sees in order to argue with it, and always needing to have the last word in a discussion. Also infamous for constantly reblogging herself, often from her personal blog Ineffable-Hufflepuff. Will wank up a storm over JKR never confirming Dumbledore's gayness in the actual text, almost a decade after the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

August 10, 2013: On a subthread about Migratory SJ Fandom, a nonny blames the SJ invasion of Night Vale on fandomsandfeminism.

January 12, 2014: A nonny regretted that fandomsandfeminism's spat with even worse wanker lalondes ultimately fizzled out without producing any remarkable wank.

February 09, 2014: Fandomsandfeminism tells a troll to stop stalking her. Meme wonders what keeps her from blocking said troll.

February 23, 2014: The beginnings of the Anime and Feminism wank. F&F made a powerpoint (now deleted) praising shows such as Puella Magi Madoka Magica, and pointing out trans characters in Persona 4 and Dangan Ronpa. Hisana Kagami, who claimed to be Japanese, reblogged the post calling F&F's analysis “culturally imperialist, white feminist drivel” and claiming that if “you are not Japanese then you don’t have any right to decide which parts of our media are definitely sexist or feminist”. Meme discusses the validity of a work's original context when it comes to critiquing it. A nonny sums up F&F: She makes decent points sometimes but mostly I get secondhand embarrassment,

Meme discusses exactly how empowering girly-girl characters are vs Tumblr's idea of weaponized femininity. Another nonny points out that the samplings of available anime and manga are as much determined by what gets licensed as by what gets produced. About F&F: Her earlier feminist reviews of mainstream movies and shows were interesting, but lately she's been all wank, all the time. She's a great one for “I can be as mean and offensive as I want because I'm oppressed, don't you dare ask me to be civil”.

Doubts are raised about Hisana Kagami's authenticity. It's theorized that she might be Japanese-American or Japanese-born but raised in America. When she delets her tumblr after a proliferation of slur-slinging trolls, meme sympathized, but some questions remained.

February 25, 2014: On a TYWAU thread, a nonny claims that “hisanakagami was (and her friend that updated her tumblr a few times after she left is) at least as much of an SJW as fandomsandfeminism”. Her inaccuracies with respect to the status of trans people in Japan are called into question, as is her growing list of minority identities. And thus endeth the Anime and Feminism wank.

February 26, 2014: A nonny into anime/manga wants to know what's up with F&F. A subthread about the state of anime/manga meta and translations is spawned. F&F's drama-hounding and troll-fighting are also discussed.

March 04, 2014: F&F gets into a squabble with the equally obnoxious casuallystudious over, of all things, a Pokemon. Meme rolls its collective eyes at everyone involved.

May 03, 2014: A nonny is very confused by a professor of theirs who considers Brienne of Tarth a possible trans character. Another nonny wonders if said professor is the self-proclaimed teacher fandomsandfeminism.

June 20, 2014: F&F is late to the party with the feminist phrasings: ““I think sisterhood can be a revolutionary term!” so did my mother, honey.”

June 30, 2014: “fandomsandfeminism is at it again with monosexism”.

July 05, 2014: F&F's cringe-inducing #bisexualsteverogers campaign. As usual, she commits several factual mistakes, most prominent among them misnaming the Marvel Comics character Shatterstar as “Starshatter”. Meme rants about fandom's idea of SJ and shippers twittering Chris Evans.

July 15, 2014: In the thread “If you could rip popularity away from one fan…”, someone says “I would take it from fandomsandfeminism and give it to someone who writes actually thoughtful feminist meta”.

August 04, 2014: The sameness of her headcanon posts is remarked upon.

August 16, 2014: More ranting about boring headcanons.

September 04, 2014: Meme discusses a passing comment by F&F on the sex of bodies in Viking burials. Probably the sanest of F&F on meme.

September 20, 2014: Another post with a mixed reception. As usual, F&F jumps into a post (this time, about the appropiateness of telling someone “you're in my prayers”) and imparts her wisdom.

September 28, 2014: Meme judges F&F's original novel about lesbian pirates and finds it boring.

October 06, 2014: Another “get off my side!” rant.

December 19, 2014: Meme discusses the applicability of “queer erasure” to bisexual characters and their same-sex relationships, with some minor eyerolling at F&F.

January 07. 2015: On a “SJWs you can't stand” thread: “For everything she makes a good point about, there are ten more things [F&F]'s gotten flat-out wrong or worse - times she's dessiminated dangerous information”.

February 08, 2015: Under “Irritating Tumbrl users”. There's a short subthread mentioning her obsession with reblogging herself and a longer one discussing her belief that automated machines will eventually replace human workers.

March 19, 2015: More about F&F stanning for Universal Basic Income. This generated a long subthread that veered away from F&F herself and into general economy. F&F is wrong about communism and condescends to disabled people. Also, she sets herself up as an anti-racist ally, but won't listen to WOC.

April 07, 2015: A brief rant about her “Bisexual Steve Rogers” campaign.

April 14, 2015: Another mention of her misunderstanding of Universal Basic Income.

April 17, 2015: A nonnie shares their regrettable F&F addiction.

June 07, 2015: A nonny thinks that F&F jumped the gun calling John Jolie Pitt trans. (As far as this editor can tell, JJP came out as trans after F&F's post.) Meanwhile, another nonny is confused about F&F's communist utopia.

June 15, 2015: F&F argues with a teenager and resorts to mocking their blog title.

June 17, 2015: Despite being an English teacher, F&F uses the word “canonly” instead of the correct “canonically”.

July 19, 2015: F&F thought the movie Ant-Man shouldn't have been about Scott Lang and, as usual, won't shut up about it.

July 26, 2015: F&F argues endlessly with anti-fem-anti-stupid, a troll who shows up periodically to bait her.

July 31, 2015: A post of F&F calling out a teenager who complains about being mistaken for a lesbian gets more mixed comments. Some nonnies end in the unenviable position of agreeing with F&F.

September 10, 2015: Another one of her endless wanks about Dumbledore. Meme mostly discusses how obvious Dumbledore/Grindelwald was (or wasn't) rather than F&F's comments.

October 12, 2015: She's mentioned a couple of times on a thread about cultural context and manga interpretation. A nonny posts a link about the elders of a remote West African tribe interpreting Hamlet, which is unrelated to F&F but interesting.

January 02, 2016: Her inclusion of Abraham Lincoln on a list of historical LGBT people is questioned.

January 09, 2016: Inevitably, she's mentioned in a Hateboners thread.

January 10, 2016: F&F talked about DC comics, especially Diana/Wonder Woman, without doing the slightest research, never mind reading the comics, and reblogged edits as actual canon.

January 25, 2016: Another apt synopsis of her antics: Her idea of activism is childish, she thinks her sexual identity makes her a superior being, fifty percent of her political opinions are malformed embarrassments, and she has absolutely no trolldar. A nonny recalls that F&F's loud Frozen hatred suddenly turned into loud Elsa stanning. Her participation in the Feminism in Anime wank also comes up, as does her telling a black woman to shut up.
