In the vein of derailing porn, some nonnies reply to particularly tiresome recognizable trolls with derailing links to cute animals picture.

The first such troll, Fog Warriors Anon (a dedicated hater of Fenris from Dragon Age) is customarily met with capybaras—sometimes one or more in reply to every recognizable comment. Occasionally, it’s capybara facts rather than pictures. (Did you know that the Catholic Church used to classify capybaras as fish?) On one memorable occasion, this led to a discussion of Fenris lassoing capybaras. And of course, who could fail to mention Fenris/capybara?

The original capybara anon explained their thought process as follows: “The first couple of times it was because I found myself wanting to tangle with FWA even though I knew it was pointless, so instead I made myself do something semi-productive with the impulse and 'respond' with a fun animal for other nonnies to look at and enjoy. (Capybaras are reasonably friendly and look very serene in addition to being cute, so I thought it was appropriate for the mindset I was trying to achieve.) After that it just became a habit.”

Some nonnies have become fond of the capybara deluge:

“I love Fenris, mods who freeze FWA, and capybaras”

“I'm not the other nonnie, but I would like capybara pictures to squee over.” (The reply: “You have to write a 500 word dissertation on why Fenris is The Worst, first. Accuracy and canon compliancy not required.” Several nonnies made attempts, and were rewarded.)

Other times, nonnies ruefully admit that they have been drawn into conversation with FWA with a request for a capybara.

Nonnies who provide this service in are sometimes called capybaristas. When the capybaristas are late to a thread involving FWA, other nonnies may call for them.

A similarly single-minded hater of Detroit: Become Human (specifically, the character Connor and his “white-cock” pairing Hank/Connor) is traditionally met with wombats.

This is a something of a spinoff of the preexisting capybara strategy, done by the same nonnies, with a new cute animal for a new wank.

“It seems DBH anon is at it again. How long was the moratorium? Should we release the wombats?”

Wombat facts were also invoked, leading to nonnies becoming concerned about the plight of the critically endangered Northern Hairy-Nosed Wombat. And a nonny adopted a Southern Hairy-Nosed wombat named Meg.

Nonnies have also decided that wank about Dragon Age character Anders (foil to Fenris) should be met with baby tigers, even though there is no dedicated anti-Anders troll (though many nonnies are willing to wank about him, none are as devoted to him as FWA is to Fenris). Marmosets have also been proposed, but not matched to a troll or a wank subject.
