Also, Americans love all British accents, mainly because "most American accents are grating." And one nonny declared “Britaboos” to be better than "Americaboos." “Oh, get over it. If you are going to produce interesting shows and books, people are going to find the things that are different from home fascinating and exotic. The OP responded with a kind of humblebrag.

Because most of the UK was asleep at the start of this wank, it quickly grew side threads about Swedes (here, here, and here); Canadians (here and here); US state-wank; and the soul-crushing dreadfulness of Dutch television. There were also a call for more-original countrywank, a juvenile reference to "fag butts," and the requisite Monty Python "Argument Clinic" subthread.

Despite best efforts at fetishizing various regions/cultures/groups, this wank was deemed a failure as "proper" countrywank by multiple nonnies, one of whom explained:

We accept that we had to sacrifice a whole night in meme to sub-par countrywank. But we think you're crazy for making us write comments telling you what cultures we like to appropriate. You see us as you want to see us: in the simplest terms and the most convenient definitions.
