Poem about Cat Valente

There is a sense in which I know
why one might like the Cat
whose paws shed clouds upon the snow
(or some poetic
thing like that)

She walks in haystacks, like the light
that drowns a haddock in the sea;
she freezes phrases overnight, for cubes
to pay the tailor's fee!
And if word salad has a spice
that makes your nose itch pleasantly,
then yes! Valente's very nice,
as nice as clouded cats can be.
