Spider-Hyphen-Man

Some nonnies consider Spider-Hyphenation a hill worth dying on. Others don't see the importance of proper arachnid superhero punctuation.

For example:

Seriously nonnie, if you're going to bitch this much about him, spell the damn name right. It's not hard. I don't go around complaining about Hank Pim.

Spiderman flows better.

You are incorrect and of the devil.

Another time, Yuletide wank was invoked:

I didn't use to care, but then the yuletide mods kept calling him "Spiderman" during Gwen Stacy Wank (2013 edition) while claiming they knew comics, so it's become an instant rage-button for me.

Sometimes it's simply a matter of good fic vs. bad:

I've backbuttoned out of so many fics because I live in the hill with the flag that reads: -

But sometimes nonnies ascribe greater importance to the hyphen:

If you really truly loved Spider-Man as he deserves to be loved, nonny, you would remember his hyphen.

This comes up frequently enough as a hill to die on that nonnies have begun discussing the flag they should pitch at said hill:

I'm actually trying to persuade a friend who can craft to make me a flag with a spider-symbol and a hyphen over top of it.

Why not a spider, a hyphen and a man silhouette?

On at least one occasion, Spider-Hyphen-Man was used as a general top-level Spider-Man thread. But of course, there is dissent:
