{{ :sei_shonagon.jpg?250|portrait of Sei Shōnagon}}"Shonanonnies" were those nonnies in the early days of meme who were inspired by [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sei_Sh%C5%8Dnagon|Sei Shōnagon]], the author and court lady of the middle [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heian_period|Heian period]] in Japan who wrote, among other things, //[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pillow_Book|The Pillow Book]]//. The ultimate Shonanonny was [[http://sei-shonanon.livejournal.com/|sei_shonanon]], who started [[http://fail-fandomanon.livejournal.com/10744.html?thread=44032504#t44032504|this early February 2011 thread]].

Several days later, in the same post, a nonny discussed [[http://fail-fandomanon.dreamwidth.org/148471.html?thread=786885623#cmt786885623|certain //Pillow Book// translations.]] However, since then, they have again faded from FFA.
